This course covers materials technology, heat treatment, knowledge of testing materials, knowledge of joining materials, corrosion, FRP (GRP), instrumentation and control engineering.

This course covers pumps & hydraulics, high pressure air compressor & air systems, electrical plant, ship construction & dry-docking, alternative fuels, refrigeration & air conditioning plant and lifting plant.

The course also covers Human Element leadership and management subjects as well as Engine Room Resource Management
